Drawer 1: 6 circles arranged in order of size and with diameters ranging from 5cm to 10 cm.Drawer 2: 6 rectangles arranged in order of size and with equal length, with width ranging from 5 cm to 10 cm.Drawer 3: 6 triangles of differing sides and angles.Drawer 4: 6 regular polygons, which would inscribe in a circle of 10 cm: pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, nonagon and decagon.Drawer 5: 4 curvilinear figures: a curved triangle, a quatrefoil, an ellipse and an ovoid; the seventh triangle and one blank.Drawer 6: 6 quadrilaterals: rhombus, parallelogram, trapezium, trapezoids, chevron, kite.
Purpose:Introduction to plane geometry. Encourage the child to recognize representation of shapes leading to an abstract conception of form. Comparisons and geometrical deductions may be made.
