Do you know the Montessori Decanomial Bead Box? This material is a math staple and it is versatile, it can be used to represent many math concepts! The Decanomial Box is introduced in the early elementary years to aid in representing addition and multiplication with concrete materials. The bead bars help in counting individual beads, contrasting physical quantities, and demonstrating how multiplication relates to addition. Later, more complex math concepts can be represented using the Decanomial Bead Box.

To accompany children in utilizing the Decanomial Bead Box, we have created a series of Task Cards with visual control for errors on the back. Decanomial Box Task Cards consist of a set of task cards divided into 3 sections. Task Cards require children to perform an action with a determined outcome (ex: 4 + 5 = ?). The sections are organized in the following manner:

DBB1 - Naming bead bars
DBB2 - Adding bead bars
DBB3 - Multiplying bead bars
