Red and Blue Rods Complete Set consists of 10 large incrementally designed rods (ranging from 10 cm. - 100 cm), 20 extension cards divided into 5 sections, a control chart, and a reproducible booklet. Children will be asked to count segments for given rods, organize rods by size, or perform simple addition and subtraction problems.

The pictures show that the Large Red and Blue Rods can be substituted with the Table Top Counter Rods. Use one set of mini rods on a table. When counting, have children touch each segment with their fingers. This practice is part of developing one-on-one correspondence, assigning a number to a segment (object) by synchronizing speech and hand movement.
