Product Description   The Decimal Board for Multiplication is an original Montessori material that was created by Dr. Montessori and was no longer manufactured. We are excited to reintroduce it to the classrooms with a revamped design. In effect, the original material was made of glass. Our exclusive version is made of high quality wood and felt fabric. Instead of writing numbers on glass, we have added numbered tiles similar to the ones used with the Checkerboard. The Decimal Board for Multiplication purpose is to multiply decimal numbers. In addition to offering a concrete visualization of the process, the Decimal Board for Multiplication requires learners to break down the multiplier into its expanded form and to report the calculations on graph paper. This process helps children understand how moving the decimal points facilitates calculations and yields the same results! Later, they will comfortably multiply decimal numbers by using the power of 10, 100, or 1000 and truly understand this practice used on paper.
