The Demonstration Tray consists of a rectangular wooden tray that contains six square compartments. Three of the six squares contain framed insets (a triangle, a square, and a circle). The Demonstration Tray precedes the introduction of the Geometry Cabinet. The purpose of the Demonstration Tray is to present children with three contrasting shapes as an introduction to the Geometry Cabinet. Children will remove each insets that they will survey with their fingers. Once every shape has been explore, children will match them to their frames. This work prepares the hand for writing.
