The Colored Rings on a Dowel is designed for infants and toddlers. It helps the child practice many skills that are necessary for their development.

Some of those skills are:

Grasping (for infants): Grabbing the discs and pulling them off of the dowels
Pincer Grip (for toddlers): Using the pincer grip to pick up the discs off of the dowels
Spatial Awareness: Realizing how big the discs are and how many will fit on a dowel
Color Matching: Learning to match the colored discs to their corresponding dowel
Hand-Eye Coordination: Learn to control their hand to place the disc on top of the dowel
Build Concentration: By repeatedly placing the discs on the dowels the child may become absorbed the activity
